Melissa Ann Fiscus, 15, of Sumner, IL passed away at her mother’s residence June 20, 2009.  Born November 11, 1993 in Crawford County, IL she was the daughter of Danny Fiscus and Julie (Ulrich) Morris.

Melissa was a member of the Beulah United Methodist Church of Sumner.  She would have been a sophomore at Red Hill High School.  Melissa was a member of the Beta Club, a member of the Red Hill High School Girls Basketball team; a member of the National Turkery Federation; Red Hill Archery Club; a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes; and a member of the Beulah/Sumner Youth Group.  She was an avid basketball player, hunter/outdoorswoman and enjoyed hunting with her father.

Melissa will be sadly missed by all of her family members and friends.  She has touched us all by her courage and faith.

Survivors include her father Danny Fiscus and his wife Kathy of Sumner, IL; her mother Julie (Ulrich) Morris and her husband Bill of Sumner; one sister Lori Fiscus of Sumner; one step-brother Derek Morris of Galatia, IL; grandparents, Janet (Piper) Ulrich of Sumner; Harold “Red” and Sherron Fiscus of Sumner; Joe Couch of Sumner; Dave and Pat Reed of Eldorado, IL; and Blaine Morris of Galatia, IL; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Charles Ivan Ulrich, and a grandmother Edna Couch.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Beulah United Methodist Church south of Sumner.

The funeral will be Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Melissa Ann Fiscus Memorial Fund or to the donor’s choice.  Envelopes will be available through the funeral home.
