DONALD WARNER

Donald E. Warner, 73, of rural Lawrenceville, IL passed away October 3, 2009 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

Born February 23, 1936 in Pinkstaff, IL he was the son of Ralph G “Razz” and Nina Sue (Highsmith) Warner.  He married Marsha Humphreys January 12, 1957.

Don was a retired Jobber for Standard Amoco Oil Company.  He also owned and operated M & D Truck Test Lane.  He bought, rebuilt and sold Catapillar equipment.

Don was a member of the First Christian Church in Lawrenceville.  He was a United States Navy Veteran, having served as a plank owner of the USS Saratoga CVA 60.  He served on the Unit District #20 school board where he served as President.  He was a member of the American Legion, Moose, Elks and Farm Bureau.

Don was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Marsha of rural Lawrenceville; one son Keith of Lawrenceville, IL; one daughter Kelly Parker of Arizona; two brothers Larry Warner and Garry Warner both of rural Lawrenceville; and two grandchildren Jacob Warner and Luke Parker.

The funeral will be 11:00 am Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL.  Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.  Military rites will be conducted.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Don Warner Athletic Scholarship fund with envelopes available through the funeral home.
