Jerry Merle Totten

Jerry Merle Totten, 61, of Lawrenceville, IL (formerly of Sumner) passed away January 6, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN.

Born February 9, 1948 he was the son of Donald Merle and Goldie (Fulk) Ridgley.  He married Claudia Cooper August 17, 1980 and she preceded him in death April 15, 2009.

Jerry owned and operated Jerry’s Septic Service.  He was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Claudia; one son Terry Totten; one brother and one infant sister.

Survivors include two sons Paul Young of Lawrenceville and Jerry Totten of Sumner; seven daughters Daisy Smith of Bridgeport, Ollie Stremme of Sumner, Jackquie Madden of FL, Shannon Kittle of Olney, Cindy Klinger of Noble, Billie Reider of Centralia and Peggy Dowty of Bridgeport; three brothers Frank and Bob Totten of Noble and Donald Ridgley of Olney; six sisters Marlene Aldridge of FL, Ruth Ridgley and Betty Richards both of Olney, Kathy Ridgley of IN and Mary Ridgley of Calhoun, IL and Pat Cogswell of Lawrenceville; as well as 14 grandchildren.

The funeral will be 12:00 noon Monday at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner.  Friends may call Monday from 10:00 am until the hour of service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery.
