Carson W. Richardson, 80, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away January 20, 2010 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. He was born October 14, 1929 in Wayne County, IL the son of Lawrence and Irma (King) Richardson. He married Enid Sons September 9, 1950 and she survives.
Carson was a member of the First Christian Church in Lawrenceville. He worked from 1950-1958 for Fairfield Candy Company; from 1958-1972 for Bridgeport Wholesale; from 1972-1994 he owned and operated Richardson Wholesale and from 1995 to the present he worked for Emmons-Macey & Steffey and Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Homes.
Carson was a member of the Civitans and the Lawrence County Country Club where he was an avid golfer. He was Veteran, having served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife Enid of Lawrenceville; two daughters Brenda and Warren Salesman of rural Flat Rock and Angie and Dan Barmes of Lawrenceville; two brothers Bob and Julie Richardson of Carmel, IN and J.O. and Joann Richardson of Nashville, TN; one sister Alberta and Bill Henson of Union, MO; three grandchildren Braden and wife Melissa Salesman of rural Flat Rock; Brooke Salesman and Heath Barmes both of Lawrenceville; and four great-grandchildren Christopher Moore, Andrew Moore, Emily Duncan and Harley Salesman.
The funeral will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville with burial to follow in May Chapel Cemetery east of Lawrenceville.
Friends may call Saturday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Lawrence County Senior Citizens or the Lawrence County Humane Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
Emmons Macey and Steffey 
Carson was a great guy and will be sadly missed by many. I always enjoyed visiting with him. He was a class act.

Carson was a real sweetheart , he always had a hug for me , I loved that white hair I will miss him.

Carson and Enid were my first bosses, The two of them were quite a couple. I will always remember his big smile and personallity. I know he will be missed by many. He crossed may paths and left an impression. I am so sorry for your loss Enid.
